A Google search listing briefly pointed to a possible Monster Hunter Rise release on Nintendo Switch 2, with September 17, 2026 shown as the date. However, the rumored port did not appear in the September 9 Direct, and neither Nintendo nor Capcom has confirmed a native Switch 2 version of Rise.
The listing was first reported by My Nintendo News and subsequently covered by Nintendo Blast on September 8, the day before Nintendo’s presentation. Both reports treated the listing as unverified. The date was notable because it matched the release date associated with Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, but the listing itself did not establish that Capcom was preparing a Switch 2 edition.
Nintendo’s official Direct page for September 2026 highlighted Monster Hunter Wilds and its new expansion as the franchise’s Switch 2 announcement. Nintendo Everything later reported Wilds is scheduled for December 4, 2026, with updates included and local play supported. The Direct recap likewise lists Wilds among the presentation’s featured games, but does not list Rise.
That outcome makes the Google entry look like an advance or erroneous listing rather than confirmation of a separate Rise release. The Monster Hunter Rise product page on Nintendo’s site documents Rise as a Nintendo Switch game published by Capcom and describes the original Switch release and the Sunbreak expansion, with no Switch 2 version listed.
Rise originally launched worldwide for Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021, per Nintendo Everything. The Switch version introduced Palamute companions and aerial Wirebug movement, while Sunbreak expanded content. These facts help explain fan interest in a Switch 2 upgrade, even though one has not been announced.
For now, Monster Hunter Wilds is the confirmed mainline Monster Hunter title coming to Nintendo Switch 2. A native Rise version on Switch 2 remains unannounced.
